My brother-in-law got remarried recently. Because of covid-19, they had to change to a very small ceremony in a temple and weren't going to have a reception. At the 11th hour, things changed a bit and family wanted to do a drive-by celebration for them. I wanted them to have something remotely traditional, so we took a cake to them as well. But apparently my luck with summer wedding cakes is still fried because the very first turn out of our driveway was taken at high speed and a weird angle so the flowers gave the frosting a funky push. I sat for the hour drive with flowers covered in frosting in one had and the cake in the other. Hopefully it's the thought that counts! And I'm glad I snapped a picture before getting in the car!

Minecraft Dirt Block
My son's food requests for his birthday were homemade french bread and a minecraft cake. He asked for either a diamond block or a dirt block. lol. I had a ton of leftover odds and ends of frosting so this was a quick & dirty dirt block (that turned out to be not so quick, I was still working on it while we ate his birthday dinner).
Graduation Celebration
The weirdness that was the end of this school year robbed my 6th grader and kindergartner of their "graduation" celebrations at school. I had some leftover cupcakes, so we had our own celebration at home!
Chocolate Peanut Butter
Cupcake for a friend! I found out it was her birthday the same day I'd had made another friend a cake. Luckily, I had made a few cupcakes with the leftover batter so it was perfect that after I found out I was able to bring her a small something as well!
Poké Ball--Take 2
My youngest requested the "EXACT same Pokémon party" as his older brother. Sadly, covid made it strictly a family party, but luckily he was just as happy to do all the games and activities with just his brothers. And I was happy because it gave me the chance to do the Poké Ball cake correctly, since my perfectionist tendencies were twitching. Ha!
Birthday sheet cake
We went to my mother-in-law's to celebrate her birthday.
I brought the stuff to make her a simple cake.
Jumbo Birthday Cupcake
I've been so blessed with a great group of friends and neighbors since moving to Utah. When I have the time and emotional ability, I love to send a birthday treat to my friends.
Poké Ball
My son wanted a Pokémon birthday party and requested a Poké Ball cake. I realized too late that I made the button all white instead of black background and white inner circle. But my brother-in-law didn't realize it was a cake at first, so I was still pleased with it.
Showered with Love
My sister's company was doing a combined baby/bridal shower for two different employees. She asked if I'd like to do a cake. There were several themes considered, but this was what they decided, it worked great for both celebrations!
Woodland Baby Shower
My niece was having a baby boy!
My sisters hosted a baby shower and did such a cute job decorating the whole thing!
Abstract Chaos
I decided to include the good, bad and ugly on the blog. You can decide which category this belongs in... 😆 But he loved it regardless!
Watercolor Wedding Cake
This was a frustrating cake. I had practiced it at home and it had turned out so cute! Unfortunately, the weather turned extremely hot for June and the frosting just would.not.cooperate! As a result, the colors were a tad off, the flowers melted and I was so flustered I forgot the leaf tip to put leaves around the flowers. Luckily the bride was sweet!
Monster Truck
We had just made a cross-country move and were living with family while we found a house in the area. So again, simple was the name of the game. He still loved it!
