RM Luggage

I was recently in Utah for a family reunion of sorts. While we were there my husband's nephew came home from a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  We had a cake in honor of his home coming; his mother requested the Book of Mormon, tie and shoe with a hole in the toe (I decided to have them be in luggage).  This was a chocolate 12 x 18 sheet cake with A-hint-of-mint chocolate filling.

This Handy Manny show lover was turning 5! They couldn't find a grocery store that would do a Handy Manny cake so we put one together for him. It had Handy Manny on top with his eight tools all around and as a 'nod' to Mr. Lopart and Kelly we did their store signs as well. Again, it's apparent my camera skills are lacking because I didn't get pictures of the tools at the right angle, but you get the idea. The 6" round was white cake (because the birthday boy wanted to make his brother happy--how sweet is that?!) with a cookies'n'cream filling. The bottom tier was a chocolate 8" square with cookies'n'cream filling.

Spencer

My son just had his 3rd birthday! It was a Cars themed party and of course his favorite character is Lighting McQueen. It was a white cake with sliced strawberries and strawberry filling.

Carol

This was a cake for my mother's 64th birthday party. Her favorite color is yellow.  I made a lot more gum paste flowers to go on the cake but due to a lot of factors I only had 30 minutes to stack, border and decorate the cake. So the small clusters were all I got on there. :( But Mom was sweet and said she loved it.  Pardon the personal indulgence but I have added a picture of this great woman surrounded by some of her family.

Picnic Pleasures!

This was a cake for a group picnic. It was a really fun cake to produce. Thinking about a typical picnic scene...I had the checked blanket, basket, hot dogs, fruit and a melting popsicle.  It was a chocolate cake with fudge chocolate filling and healthy layer of buttercream under the fondant.

Space cake

My client's son was having his 5th birthday party and he loves all things Space themed. I did these assorted cupcakes and I also did a large rocket cake, but sadly I forgot to take a picture of the rocket! I'm hoping to get a picture from the client that I'll post later. I hope the birthday boy loved it all.

Game Night

White cake with sliced strawberries & strawberry buttercream filling. This is basically a copycat cake that I thought was fun and wanted to duplicate. My husband indulged me because dispite this being a "girls cake" he let me serve it at a recent game night we hosted.

Purse

Chocolate frosting, pink modeling chocolate, and white meringue decorations. So fun!

This was a cake for a party with the MD/PhD program at Baylor College of Medicine. A white coat, stethoscope to represent the medical side and a pipetman to represent the research side of the program. This had a lot of little details but was fun to execute.

Wedding Cake

A wedding cake requested for the young women at a church activity. My first attempt at calla lilies, it went pretty well.

Young Women's Auction

This cake was auctioned off at a fundraisier for girls trying to get money to attend a summer church camp.
